DERS International - History & Legacy

Knowledge of gemstones, pearls and antiques is a skill that’s often passed over generations. DERS International stems from one such lineage, ‘The Nahetas’. Over a century of experience has made this lineage a mine of knowledge in the field of gemstones & jewellery. With an extensive experience of 150 years DERS International has built its goodwill across borders.  Seven generations into the business, the men behind DERS International know the importance of selecting the best gemstones. A flourishing enterprise backed by a rich legacy, DERS International is a team of men driven to achieve excellence.

Being a perfectionist isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Big goals; a strong and powerful belief system; and personal discipline that extends to his professional life as well – are some of the reasons why the shy and resilient Sushil Naheta has tasted success.
Son of Milapchand Naheta, he took the reins of the business with extreme efficiency from an early age. Being a man of few words, he’s always let his work speak for himself. Five decades of experience, coupled with personal and professional discipline makes The Founder and Chairman of DERS International grow manifold since it was founded in 1990.
His sons, having been trained under his expert guidance are taking the legacy forward, and he now plays the role of the perfect mentor to DERS International and its members. His current role as a guide extends to all areas of business, be it finance, purchasing, manufacturing or client relations. Sushil Naheta is a man who is well respected within the trade and by his clients and suppliers, as much as he is by family.

Rohit popularly known as ‘Bobby’ learnt the tricks of the trade from an early age. Having started work under the guidance of his grandfather, Milapchand Naheta, he picked up vital principles and ethics of the trade and the knowledge of gemstones, pearls and antiques that he’s guided by even today. He moved to Bangkok to join his father Sushil Naheta in the business in 1995. 25 years of experience and exposure to the international market has fine tuned his skills into the successful businessman he is today.
Maintaining cordial business relationships with his suppliers and buyers, Bobby has earned a goodwill and reputation for himself within the industry that remains unmatched. Along with actively being involved in the company’s day-to-day management, he is the man behind extending the reach of the company in the South-East by setting up an office in HongKong in 2010. Taking the company to newer heights, with his excellent client relations, he is also actively involved in buying antique jewelry.

Mohit started learning the gemstone trading business with his father while studying at the University in Thailand. He moved to Mumbai to hone his skills in diamond trading. Being a people’s person and his keen marketing skills helped him expand in the European market, where he successfully set up an office in the diamond hub Antwerp to trade in rough and polished diamonds along with rose cut diamond manufacturing.
To add another feather in his hat, Mohit also gained experience in Indian jadau jewellery manufacturing and trading. He not only plays a crucial role of being responsible for managing the company inventory but also is responsible for planning and execution of sales within the local Thai market.
